Jodi L. Strother of Mountain Home was recently named Special Associate Justice of the Supreme Court of Arkansas, and the announcement was featured in the December 9, 2014, edition of The Baxter Bulletin (click to view publication).

Governor Mike Beebe appointed Strother in the case of John K. Kelly v. Christian Snowden Kelly, Arkansas Supreme Court Case No. 13-919.

"I am privileged to appoint you as Special Associate Justice of the Arkansas Supreme Court to participate in this specific case," Beebe wrote in his appointment letter. "Thank you very much for your willingness to serve in this capacity."

Strother, a member The Strother Law Firm in Mountain Home, is a graduate of Mountain Home High School and the daughter of Lane and Judith Strother. She earned her Bachelor of Arts degree from Ouachita Baptist University and her Juris Doctorate degree from William H. Bowen School of Law - University of Arkansas at Little Rock.

She is married to Todd Gilbert and is the mother of four sons - Jake, Buck, Wyatt and Rhett. She is an active member of First Baptist Church and is past president of the Baxter County Bar Association, Hospice of the Ozarks and the Junior Auxiliary of Mountain Home. She is a member of the Arkansas Bar Association and the Baxter County Bar Association.
